Meet the Co-Founders

Jason Chew
Co-Founder & Producer

Jason has had the opportunity to be involved in various career adventures, before settling into his passion for producing business events.

Starting off in his journey with The Royal Malaysian Navy Reserved Unit while pursuing his Degree, he later joined Lawrence Walter Seminars, a corporate training agency based in Kuala Lumpur, and then had a stint as food and beverage operators in Kuching.

It was in 2006 when he had a taste of the business events industry, when he was involved with the launch of the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB). And there has been no looking back ever since.

His versatile and varied work experience till then was useful in his new career journey. Fueled by his passion for the industry, he eventually founded Events Horizon, which is today one of the biggest event management companies in Sarawak.

With his dedication and commitment, he and his team have successfully produced creative and high profile events for key clients which include the Sarawak Convention Bureau, Sarawak Energy, IBRACO, Nestle Malaysia, Maxis, Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Sarawak Tourism Board, AirAsia and Mercedes Benz.

In 2016, they provided Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) services for the 4th Heads of ASEAN Power Utilities/Authorities (HAPUA) Conference, followed by their involvement in the prestigious 55th International Conference and Convention Association (ICCA) Congress held in Kuching. And more recently, the 19th Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (PECERA) Conference and Veterinary Association Malaysia (VAM) Congress 2016 and 2018.

As an active industry participant and through his international networking skills, Jason was awarded the SCB Convention Scholarship to attend the Incentive Conference and Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP) Conference in Singapore in 2016. At the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) 2018 in Xiamen, China, he received his Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) and was invited as a Panelist for the sharing session.

With the success of Kuching as one of the best 2nd tier MICE cities, Jason looks forward to the collaboration with Ronald Lim via their new entity - Conference People Sdn Bhd - and will be involved with the forthcoming 21st Federation of Asia Veterinary Association (FAVA) Conference in 2020 and 25th Annual Scientific Meeting for Malaysian Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (MASPHO) in Kuching, Sarawak.
